Frequently Asked Questions: The Design Mode Editor

Q: Whenever I create content, a large empty block appears at the top of every page and I can't seem to get rid of it.
A: This is typically caused by a program called HotBar. HotBar is a program that adds icons and images to e-mails in Outlook Express. Since Ensight's editor uses the same program as Outlook Express for its WYSIWYG capabilities, HotBar mistakenly thinks that every content page you create is actually an e-mail, and inserts code at the top of the page in order for it to work properly. The HotBar code can be removed using Text mode, however the only way to prevent this from re-occuring is to disable HotBar while you work with Ensight's Design Mode editor.

Q: My content is getting cut off whenever I save
A: The default installation of Ensight allows for up to 65,000 characters on a single page of content. To increase the character limit, please see this article.
