Problem :

I have loaded Windows 2003 Standard Edition with MSSQL 2000 but I can't seem to connect to the MSSQL 2000 server via php even though it's clearly running on Windows 2003 Std Edition ...

Solution :

Load all the windows and mssql 2000 service packs :)
